How It Works:
The filtration process operates on the principle of depth filtration. Raw water enters from the inlet at the top of the tank and passes downward through a thick bed of uniformly graded quartz sand (recommended media size: 2–4 mm).-As water flows through the sand bed, suspended solids, algae, organic matter, and other impurities are trapped within the voids between the media particles.-Treated water then passes through the underdrain system and exits through the outlet, delivering clean, filtered water to the downstream irrigation network.-
Over time, accumulated debris increases pressure drop across the filter. To restore performance, the system initiates an automatic backwashing cycle: flow direction is reversed, fluidizing the sand bed and flushing trapped particles out through a dedicated drain, all without interrupting downstream water supply.
